Opportunities From: Pride Northwest

As Parade Barricade/Floaters, volunteers will be expected to:

The gate crew will be greeting folks that come into the festival. They will be taking suggested donations at the entrances, handing out stickers, passing out information and most importantly are in charge of crowd control.

Folks taking the first early shift, before the festival, will serve as gate monitors. Ensuring that people don't come into the space early. 

MUST COMPLETE TABLING TRAINING (or had prior tabling experience with Pride NW) BEFORE APPLYING.

At this event you will be tabling in the area outside of the main game field and informing interested passerby's about our mission and what makes volunteering at Pride NW so great! At this event you will be expected to:

-Be an ambassador for Pride Northwest 

-Have knowledge of our mission statement and general goals

-Be willing to engage and socialize with the general public

-Be willing to stand/sit behind a table in a loud environment 

-Have prior tabling experience with Pride Northwest

The Timbers are excited to once again host Pride Night on Saturday, July 25th! At this event you will be tabling in the area outside of the main game field and informing interested passerby's about our mission and what makes volunteering at Pride NW so great! At this event you will be expected to:

The Thorns are excited to host their own Pride Night on Thursday, July 23rd! At this event you will be tabling in the area outside of the main game field and informing interested passerby's about our mission and what makes volunteering at Pride NW so great! At this event you will be expected to:

-Have knowledge of our mission statement and general goals

-Be willing to engage and socialize with the general public

-Be willing to stand/sit behind a table in a loud environment 

-Have prior tabling experience with Pride Northwest

After the fun has been had, we have much to pack up and remove from the Waterfront Park! The primary needs will be to assist in loading totes and patio furniture into rucks or cars, and meeting at the unload destination to help unload. For this opportunity, you should be able to assist in lifting items between 50 - 70 lbs, and it is helpful if you have reliable transportation. Volunteers will meet at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park, and then be dispatched to the unload destination with a Pride staff, as needed.

End of Parade Volunteers help keep floats moving and non-parade participants out of the road. They also help direct floats as they leave the parade.

Volunteers will respond to immediate needs of parade contingents and check in booths. This opportunity does require mobility, potentially over curbs and uneven grassy areas.

General parade volunteers will be prepared to respond to immediate unforeseen need, including filling in spots when other assigned volunteers are unable to attend their shift.

Volunteers will be stationed at the intersections of the parade route, to ensure that attendees do not impede the path of parade contingents and monitor for and report any potential unsafe circumstances or situations.

This volunteer opportunity is specific to ensuring accessibility is being proactively monitored, addressed and acted upon during the operating hours of the Portland Waterfront Pride Festival. Tasks for this opportunity include, but may not be limited to:

We'll need a handful of volunteers to assist with handing notices to business of parade closures within an approx. 10 square block area from the Waterfront.

Folks will go in teams :)

These volunteers will work with our 2025 Pride Tee Shirt partner, Portland Gear, to assist with Point of Sale in the tent. Proceeds from Official Pride Northwest teeshirts will help fund our year round programming!

Volunteers will assist in directing blocks of parade contingents onto the main launch point. This opportunity requires individuals to swiftly travel 2-3 blocks multiple times over about a three hour period.

Volunteer tasks include initial set up of VIP areas or information booths such as setting up the tents and other miscellaneous tasks as needed.

*Thursday will focus on unloading and setting up furniture in VIP and artist areas

Festival runners report directly to Parade Leads and will follow their direction. Tasks include a variety of tasks depending on what is needed in the moment.

Volunteers will be stationed at either a volunteer check-in, or information booth. This is great for people who like to multi-task and problem solve! As the hub for festival coordination, it can be a chaotic environment at times, busy with people and questions. A cool, calm head is necessary as well as a good understanding of festival layout and organization.
