Accessibility Monitors

Description

This volunteer opportunity is specific to ensuring accessibility is being proactively monitored, addressed and acted upon during the operating hours of the Portland Waterfront Pride Festival. Tasks for this opportunity include, but may not be limited to:

  • Walking and surveying festival ground for potential hazards and barriers to accessibility, and reporting to appropriate staff 
  • Wetting and raking patches of loose sand and soil
  • Assisting with laying traction mats for mobility devices that are stuck in loose sand/soil patches
  • Guiding individuals with specific accessibility needs to appropriate areas (ramps for wheelchairs/mobility devices, ADA restrooms, ASL tents, etc.)
